Carer Gateway Talk

Did you know that carers need care too? The Carer Gateway team from Chung Wah Community Care (Chung Wah CC) was invited to share valuable information about our Carer Gateway services at the Vietnamese Evangelical Church on 13th July. The talk was conducted in both English and Vietnamese.

Many people may overlook the fact that they are indeed a carer. If you provide unpaid care and assistance to a family member or friend who is disabled, ill, mentally unwell, or frail due to old age, you qualify as a carer.

The key point is: caring for others can be a highly challenging role. Thus, carers themselves also need care! Chung Wah CC's staff provided a detailed introduction to the community about the Carer Gateway programme, a free service initiative funded by the Australian government that offers emotional, social, and other substantial support to carers.

Chung Wah CC recently took part in the Carer Gateway programme, becoming one of the partner organisations of Carers WA. We provide assessment services for carers from non-English-speaking backgrounds and help them obtain relevant information and support from the Carer Gateway.
